05 Days & 04 Nights Itinerary

Day 01

-Arrival at Bandaranayake International Airport.

-Meet & greet by Sterling Holidays representative & transfer to Dambulla.

-En-route visit Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage.

Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage - Is home to hundreds of abandoned or injured elepants who are looked after with affection. The elephants at the orphanage are bathed daily in a river located nearby.

-In Pinnawala Elephant Back Safari.

-In afternoon visit Dambulla Cave Temple.

Dambulla Cave Temple- is world heritage site in Sri Lanka. Locate North of Kandy in atale District. The town of Dambulla is built around a large granite outcrop, concieling an impressive Buddhist Cave Complex, Raja Maha Vihara dating from the 01st century BC. It's the largest and best preserved cave complex in Sri Lanka.

-Overnight stay in Dambulla.

 

Day 02

-Beakfast at the hotel.

-Travel to visit Sigiriya Kashyapa Lions Rock.

Sigiriya Rock Fortress - Is situated in the North Central Province belong to the "Cultural Triangle" in the dry lowlands of Sri Lanka. Sigiriya Rock known as Lion's Rock an considered by some as the 08th wonder o the world. uilt during the reign of the King Kashyapa [477-495]AD. On the west of the rock are ponds the remains of summer palaces and other structures, and the 01st part of the ancient road, which lead to it's impressive summit.

-Visit the sacred Temple of Tooth Relic.

Temple of Tooth - The sacred tooth relic, house in the Temple of the tooth in Kandy is an object of veneration to Buddhists and the most important sacred relic in the country. The temple is one of the most scared places in the world of Budhists.

-Overnight stay in Kandy.

 

Day 03

 -Breakfast at the hotel.

-Leave to visit the Royal Botanical Garden, the magnificient river ggridled 57 hectare laid out in 1832, are among the finest in the world. It's treasures of tropical flora include fine collections of Orchids, Spices. Theese gardens were the naturally camoflagued operations headquarters of SEAC Supreme Allied Commander, Lord Luois Mountbatten during the 02nd waorld war.

-En-route see the Ramoda Water Fall & en-route visit a tea factory to watch the process of turning raw green leaf into the familiar black/brown famous Ceylon Tea. At the end enjoy a nice cup of tea amidst the spectacular scenery of the tea plantations.

-Arrive in Nuwaraeliya - also known as the "City of Lights" and "Little England".

Nuwaraeliya was the famous hill station of the British and the Old Brick Post Office, country houses like hill club, with it's hunting trophies and fish and strict formal dinner attire; the 18 hole golf course, race course etc. All reaminds one of England.

-Leisure at Gregory Park.

-Overnight stay in Nuwaraeliya.

 

Day 04

-Breakfast at the hotel.

-En-route visit Sita Amman Temple.

Sita Amman Temple - Sita Amman Temle can be seen en-route to the Hakgala botanical gardenes. The prominent temple architecture will not fail to attract your attention. According to legend this site is associated with Sita. Ancient statues of Rama & Sita can be seen on the side of the temple. The temple today is a modern bilding with it's paintings, statues & pillars decorated with sculptures, all depicting the tale of Rama & Sita. The rear of the temple overlooks a stream while from it's front can be seen the Hakgala Peaks.

-Arrive in Bentota & check-in at hotel.

-Afternoon visit to Turtle Hatchery in Kosgoda.

Turtle Hatchery - Located in Kosgoda; which is famous for it's several species of turtles. Specially the endangered hawkbells, Eggs which are left uncovered on beaches all around the caost are brought by fisherman of Kosgoda area, which has led to the hatching and release of 100,000 young turtles in only 02 years since the hatchery opened.

Day 05

-Breakfast at the hotel.

-Leisure at beach and enjoy the Colombo City Tour.

Colombo- [derived from Sinhalese name Kola-Amba-Thota which means "mangoe harbour" altered by the Portugese to hounor Christopher Colombus] is he culturalcapital & largest city & commercial centre in Sri Lanka. [The new administrative captal in Sri Jayawardhanapura Kotte]. Sightseeing highlights include townhall & the Bandaranayake Memorial International Conference Hall. Apart from excellent shopping Colombo offers visits to one of the world's leading autions, an 18 hole Golf course, Seasonal Buddhist and Hindu pageants, international cricket tournements, lush casinos, enojyable eveing entertainment and excellent restaurents.
